The trees were planted by 2191 future engineers and doctors who studied at Aakash Institute, Jaipur

In a massive tree plantation drive to make the city green, students and faculty of Aakash Institute – the country’s premier provider of test preparatory services – planted 2191 saplings, equal to the number of selection of their students in competitive exams this year from the city, at the JDA park, Patrakar Colony in Jaipur.

The first year of the campaign called “Green Jaipur Clean Jaipur” was organized to create better awareness about the importance of having a green cover for the city.

Air pollution is the single largest, environment related global health risk of our time. According to the World Health Organization, nine out of ten people breathe polluted air. Approximately seven million deaths every year are attributed to bad air quality, which increases the risk of strokes, lung cancer and other cardio vascular diseases. Planting more and more trees is one solution that can help in mitigating these risks to an extent.

Mr. Govind Gupta - ADGP, Jaipur graced the tree plantation drive as the Chief Guest in the presence of Mr Parmeshwar Jha, Regional Director, Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL). The tree plantation was preceded by felicitation of JEE and NEET toppers from Aakash Institute’s branch in the city.

“The environment today is facing a lot of problems like pollution and degradation of green cover and if we don’t address these issues today, we would be doing immense harm to our future generation. It is heartening to note that the students of Aakash Institute apart from their studies are committed to the environment and are spreading awareness about the vital role forests play in the protection of our planet. I hope these kind of plantation drives are held in all parts of Jaipur and it turns into a green and beautiful city,” said Mr Gupta on the occasion.

Added Mr Parmeshwar Jha, Regional Director, Aakash Educational Services Ltd. (AESL), “We at Aakash feel an immense responsibility towards the environment and nature. With the increasing pollution and destruction of natural habitat of birds and animals, the tree plantation drive holds a great significance and it’s a small step towards sustainable future. Our students and faculty have been running tree plantation drives in Aakash centers across the country. We renew our pledge to make the environment around us clean and green.”
