ACT Fellowship Program

ACT has launched its flagship Fellowship Program - an opportunity for young professionals to contribute towards creating social impact at scale while building their own leadership skills and entrepreneurial abilities. It offers a platform for aspiring changemakers and potential social entrepreneurs to learn from domain experts, gain invaluable experience in venture philanthropy and learn what it takes to catalyse collective action for social change; straight from the driver’s seat.

The program, which will commence in September 2022, is looking to accept a maximum of 6 Fellows; each of whom will be given a monthly stipend of 50,000. Each ACT Fellow will work full-time for 9 months with an ACT verticals (education, healthcare, climate action, gender inclusivity) on:

a) Ecosystem Research: Field research, sector mapping & analysis, potential grantee pipeline creation, due diligence processes, creating knowledge repositories etc.

b) Grant Making & Portfolio Management: Investment pitch preparation, creating and monitoring grants, grantee needs assessment, grantee impact analysis & articulation, outcome reporting etc.

c) Steering Collectives: Donor management, community mobilisation, forging partnerships & cross-sector collaborations, organising organisational / industry events, structuring & operationalising challenge grants, supporting programs for incubation & acceleration etc.

At the end of their tenure, Fellows can expect to have an insider view into how catalytic grants can attempt to create sustainable social change, along with the operational knowledge of how this needs to be actioned at scale with a clear objective to outcome lens. Each graduating Fellow, on successfully completing the program, will also receive an experience letter and a letter of recommendation from the ACT Board of Advisors.

Ideal candidates are graduates from an accredited university in or outside India, have at least 2 years of work experience in investment banking, strategy consulting, high growth startup and/or social impact sectors and have previously managed projects end to end in a high rigour environment.

Says Alankrita Khera (Director - Brand & Communications, ACT), "This is an incredible opportunity for young people who're looking to take that first guided step into a space that really needs their ideas and perspectives. We're looking for the brightest young minds in India - those who can think on their feet, are hungry to learn, enjoy taking on challenges, thrive in a rapidly evolving environment and have a vision to change the world!" .

About ACT

ACT is a non-profit venture philanthropy platform that was born in 2020 in response to the COVID crisis and is built upon the premise that collective action has the power to achieve social impact at scale.

We are driven by the desire to catalyse social change through a bias for action and collaboration across the board - startup founders, donors, NGO’s, expert advisors, government stakeholders as well as the public at large.

Our grants are given as seed capital to incubate and accelerate innovations that have demonstrated ability to address identified social need gaps at scale - within education, healthcare, climate action and gender inclusivity.

In addition to providing funding, we work with our grantees on their strategy as well as operations and help them harness the strength of our collective to make sure they have access to the best-in-class mentorship the industry has to offer.
