The buzz surrounding the highly anticipated reality show, ‘Lock Upp’ to be streamed on MX Player and ALTBalaji has been growing by the day. Ever since its grand launch in Mumbai announcing the fiery Kangana Ranaut as the show host, viewers can’t wait to see all the action, drama and gossip unfold on their screen.

Amidst multiple rumours and speculation about the next contestants, it’s now been confirmed that Munawar Faruqui and Poonam Pandey will be the next inmates to join Nisha Rawal.

Munawar, who is a popular name in the stand-up comedy world, was arrested by the Indore Police last year in a case for allegedly hurting the sentiments of a certain section of people and was in jail for almost a month. He is a writer and rapper too.

Poonam, who is a popular name in the modelling and internet world, made her Bollywood debut with the movie ‘Nasha’ in 2013. Her name has certainly added more glitz and glamour to this fearless reality series, taking the hotness level a notch higher.

Commenting on his association with ‘Lock Upp’, Munawar says, “Lock Upp is going to be a one-of-its-kind show, as I believe it has the potential to change the dynamics of the content-viewing experience in the Indian OTT industry. Though it’s going to be a tough and challenging journey for me, I feel confident that I would do as much as possible to get through and be myself in a real set-up. I am glad to be associated with ALTBalaji  and MX Player through such a unique reality show.”

Poonam Pandey shared, “I am super excited to inform everyone that I am a part of the biggest controversial show in India, 'Lock Upp'. I don't know what will happen in there because whatever I have read and have seen about the show, I have understood that I have to perform a task even for my basic necessities and there is no luxury in this Lock Upp. So I don't know how am I going to pull this off, but I am nervous and excited at the same time.”

Lock Upp: Badass Jail Atyaachaari Khel will see 16 popular celebrity contestants locked up in host Kangana Ranaut's jail, who will compete for the most basic amenities as they fight for the winner's title. MX Player and ALTBalaji will live stream this show 24x7 on their respective platforms and allow the audiences to interact directly with the contestants, starting 27th February, 2022.
